If we could watch our decisions being processed by our brains, the human myth of free will would never have arisen. Computer processes are well understood, so we don't make up myths about computers, at least not myths about computers with supernatural powers.
Untrue - we are constantly making up myths about computers. The 'rogue' automaton is the sweetheart of science fiction and has been for decades.

This battle is not easy to resolve. I think Kurt Godel may have an issue here. A system is hard to prove/disprove from within.
